What are RJJ Textures RJJ Textures are a set of procedural textures for use with Impulse's ray tracer, Imagine for Windows. They are a set of colour and bump textures that share a common set of user definable parameters. In addition, they all inter-relate so that bump colours can be modified by other RJJ textures and material maps can be generated to blend other RJJ textures together.

RJJ FlareI This texture provides a flare with random light that spreads out from the center. Any of the texture axes can be used. The radius of the flare is taken as being the length of the texture axis around which the flare is going. The rays may also be "changed" by adjusting the size of the other two axes.

Frequency The repetition rate of the pattern can be modified.
Phase The phasing of the pattern can be tightly controlled.
Turbulence Turbulence can be added with the size, period, noise and number of octaves all being controllable.
Colour Maps Each texture can have a up to four colours in its colour map. This can be expanded indefinitely using additional textures.
Alpha Maps Each texture can have a up to four Alpha values in its colour map. This can be expanded indefinitely using additional textures.
Material Maps Any texture can be used to control the application of other textures. These can be any of the RJJ colour or bump textures.
Scale Maps Any texture can be used to control the scale of the next texture applied.
Filter The pattern can be used to affect the object's filter values.
Reflect The pattern can be used to affect the object's reflectivity values.
Around The pattern can be applied around any of the texture axes.
Width The width of the rays can be controlled.
Distribution The distribution of the rays can also be specified.
