Introduction

This section describes the parameters situated on the bump page that are used by all bump textures. To go directly to a particular section click on the links above. "BACK" will take you back to the contents page.

Bump Height
Animatible : YES

The bump height parameter controls the height of the bumps (strange that). When the value is positive the bumps will appear as raised bumps and when this parameters is negative the they appear as dents or depressions. The bigger the magnitude of the bump height, either positive or negative, the larger the bumps or depressions. TIP: The bumps can be set to zero and a colour texture added to colour the bumps. This allows a bump texture to act as a colour texture

The figures below show how changing the bump height changes the bumps.

Bump - The Bump Height Parameter
Bump Height = -0.50 Bump Height = -0.25 Bump Height = -0.00 Bump Height = 0.25 Bump Height = 0.50

Top Clip
Animatible : YES

The top clip parameter controls the clipping of the top of the bumps. When the bumps are positive the means that the bumps stop, forming a plateau, at the height determined by top clip. When the bump are negative the same clipping occurs except that the bottom of the depressions are clipped.

The figures below show the effect of varying the bottom clip when the bumps are both positive and negative.

Bump - The Top Clip Parameter
Top Clip = 1.00 Top Clip = 0.75 Top Clip = 0.50 Top Clip = 0.25
Bump Height = 1.00

Bump - The Top Clip Parameter
Top Clip = 1.00 Top Clip = 0.75 Top Clip = 0.50 Top Clip = 0.25
Bump Height = -1.00

Bottom Clip
Animatible : YES

The bottom clip parameter controls the clipping of the bottom of the bumps. When the bumps are positive the means that the bumps stop, forming a flat, at the height below the bottom clip. When the bump are negative the same clipping occurs except that the top of the depressions are clipped.

The figures below show the effect of varying the bottom clip when the bumps are both positive and negative.

Bump - The Bottom Clip Parameter
Bottom Clip = 1.00 Bottom Clip = 0.75 Bottom Clip = 0.50 Bottom Clip = 0.25
Bump Height = 1.00

Bump - the Bottom Clip Parameter
Bottom Clip = 1.00 Bottom Clip = 0.75 Bottom Clip = 0.50 Bottom Clip = 0.25
Bump Height = -1.00
